Searching for West African food items in New Zealand was a challenge our founder faced when she moved here. Passionate about food and inspired by her parents’ culinary skills, she started Chinny African Foods, a brand that offers you a wide selection of traditional West African ingredients and seasonal specialties.

THE FOUNDER
Chinenye Anita Ndukwe is a serial entrepreneur with a talent for turning challenges into opportunities. Her journey began with a personal struggle with alopecia while pregnant with her son in 2018, she faced significant hair loss and had trouble finding high-quality wigs. This led her to create Chinny Organic Product which offers a range of traditional skin care and beauty products (such as hair accessories, quality wigs etc), Today, Chinny has a walk-in store (Chinny Beauty Space) at 257 Onehunga Mall, Onehunga Auckland NZ that offer a diverse range of beauty products and services (such as makeup, hair, nail fixing and treatment, PMUS treatment, waxing etc).
Her entrepreneurial venture didn’t stop there. Since her arrival in New Zealand, Chinny noticed a gap in the availability of high-quality West African food ingredients. This has now birthed Chinny African Food Store, a leading source of West African products available both online and offline. Today, she provides over 100 recipes and meal plans for any occasion, making sure you have delicious options whether you’re hosting a large event or enjoying a cozy family meal. Her story exemplifies how merging passions for family, food, and fashion can turn challenges into remarkable successes.
